Typical Features

• A small patch of water or a pond for toads, newts and fish
• Nesting boxes for birds
• Piles of mossy logs and leaf litter for bugs and carefully selected plants
• Glade of grass or woodchip with trees around it
• Seat
• Trees, with shrubs under the tress

Typical Plants

• Container grown trees such as silver birch, mountain ash and Japanese maple. Choose to suit size of garden
• Avoid plants with poisonous seed pods

Maintenance and Care

This type of garden requires minimal maintenance and care but make sure ponds or water features are kept reasonably clean.

Keep plants trimmed sufficiently to enable you to view the areas of interest.
