Of even greater concern, you are usually left to deal with them when the works commence and life can get very difficult if they are not living up to your expectations.
At MHMG our approach is different.
From moving a light switch to designing and building a major multi-storey extension, our Project Management service has been developed to efficiently complete the works to a high standard, on time and on budget.
We do not expect you to know how to prepare a building contract or know a good plumber from a bad one. We consider it our job to select and manage our approved contractors to ensure that the work is carried out to your satisfaction.
Our design team is vastly experienced in property improvement so if your project requires any architectural work, we will deal with this.

MHMG Ten Star Service
- When you submit an enquiry, you will immediately be allocated a job manager who will have relevant experience for your specific works. A property visit will be arranged, usually with your job manager and one or more approved contractors who will further discuss your requirements.
- Our contractors are thoroughly vetted which includes inspecting work that has been completed and ensuring they hold valid insurances.
- A quotation will be e-mailed (and posted if required) to you usually within 10 days of your property visit.
- For major projects such as loft conversions or home extensions, we will normally carry out a feasibility study for you – see our factsheet for more details on this service.
- Our architects and designers will prepare plans and deal with any submissions required for planning permission and building regulations approval.
- Once our quotation is agreed we will prepare and issue a formal agreement for the work for your peace of mind. This will include the cost and agreed start and completion dates.
- Our on line tracking service will enable you to log in and check the details of your project at any time. Our staff will constantly update your job record ensuring that you are kept informed on a regular basis. Unless you would prefer paper copies, correspondence and updates will be sent by e-mail.
- The work will be supervised and monitored by your job manager who will deal with any queries or issues as the work is carried out.
- Payment for the work will only be made when the work is completed. For larger projects, stage payments will be set up but you will only pay for each stage as it is completed.
- On completion, all work will carry our own 2 year warranty for your peace of mind.
